Hello my name is Robin Walker I'm from Beaumont, Texas and I attend LAMAR Institute of Technology.

My family hosts lives in Steinhude and I have enjoyed my journey very well, especially my stay in Steinhude. The first day they showed me their village and told me a few things about the history of Steinhude. They gave a lovely tour of the village and showed me the lake Steinhude and some kinds of art which was shown at the lake.

In the morning of my second day I was greated together with the other Students and their hosts. The Leader of our partner college welcomed us with a speech and a nice breakfast.

Later that day, the father of my host invited me to go to a grand opening of an art gallery on the Island Wilhemstein. We visited the museum, which was inside the castle and toured around the island to see the art exhibit.

On my third day we had a nice tour to the market and an eel smokehouse and in the evening a nice dinner with eel, some kinds of fish and vegetables.

On Sunday the 21^st May, 2006 we began our day with the fisherman and weaver museum. In this museum, I was given the history and a demonstration of the weawing. I collected a special bag, which was woven originally at the old machine.

In the afternoon we had a special bike tour from Steinhude to Wunstorf. In Wunstorf they told me something about the history of the town.

At the church of this town is a basket that held the head of the man, who needed to be punished, cause he had burnt many houses in Wunstorf. So they caught him, cut off his head and put into this basket to show the citizens: „Don't do this or the same will happen to you!“

After the short introduction of the history, we went to a nice Italian ice cafe. We chose out of a large variety of ice creams. It was very hard for me to choose from all the flavors.

On our way back to Steinhude, we took a different route, which lead us to the historical site of the windmill „Paula“.

The miller gave me a tour through the complete mill. He showed me the process of the production of flour.
